Here’s what you will do: Develop and maintain a network of
customer, industry group and government contacts across various
industrial sectors and geographical locations throughout the U.S.
and internationally. Develop and maintain a business development
screening model for application to potential new business
opportunities. Conduct initial assessments of potential
opportunities to determine suitability for further development.
Present and make recommendations to senior management for business
opportunities identified. Propose potential low carbon development
project opportunities to customers, industry groups, and government
bodies for consideration. Participate in the negotiations of
various agreements with potential customers and government bodies.
Lead, motivate, and direct teams to achieve successful outcomes in
relation to the commercial opportunities being pursued. Coordinate
and drive alignment between technical execution and commercial
groups to achieve successful projects. Leverage technical and
commercial expertise to represent Enbridge in joint ventures
related to hydrogen and ammonia opportunities. Leverage technical
and commercial expertise to represent Enbridge in joint ventures
related to carbon capture, transportation, and sequestration
opportunities. Ensure that throughout the project development
process, a high level of communication is maintained with both
internal and external collaborators. Manage interaction with
internal cross functional resource groups including regulatory,
law, environment, safety, public affairs, communications and
sustainability, land, and other customer management teams. Lead and
coordinate the preparation of submissions to the board of directors
or executive leadership team for the approval of new projects and
for project updates. Collaboratively resolve complex issues as they
arise by applying broad business and/or specialized knowledge,
making decisions on how solutions impact the immediate issue and
the company long term. Find opportunities and have a keen awareness
of interrelationships with other partners. May make decisions
regarding significant standard practice deviations, including
timely escalation of high-risk issues to senior leadership and a
fully developed plan to mitigate those risks. Makes decisions not
usually subject to technical review, except those involving large
sums of money or long-range objectives. Provides recommendations
that have high impact on financial performance and team
efficiencies. Work with limited supervision to achieve broadly
defined goals and objectives 20% international travel to visit
company sites. Who you are: Must have a Bachelor’s degree in
Commerce, International Business, Engineering, or related field.
Must have seven (7) years of experience as a Business Development
Analyst, Business Development Manager or related field. The seven
(7) years of experience must include commercial experience;
experience related to hydrogen, ammonia, carbon capture,
transportation, sequestration, and energy infrastructure. Physical
Requirements include but are not limited to: Grasping, kneeling,
light – moderate lifting (objects up to 25 pounds), reaching above
shoulder, repetitive motion, typing, sitting, standing, visual
requirement (able to see screens, detect color coding, read fine
print), hearing requirement and the ability to sit at a computer
for long periods of time. Mental Requirements (Both Field & Office)
include but are not limited to: Ability to: understand, remember
and apply oral and/or written instructions or other information,
understand complex problems and collaborate/explore alternative
solutions, organize thoughts and ideas into understandable
terminology, organize and prioritize work schedule on a short-term
basis, make decisions which have moderate impact on the immediate
work unit and monitor impact outside this area, understand and
follow basic instructions and guidelines, complete routine forms,
compose letters, outlines, memoranda and basic reports and
