Job Description:

Position: Mechanical Design/Estimating Engineer II or IIIReports To: VP of Estimating & EngineeringBasic Functions:Prepare mechanical designs & bill of materials for shell and tube heat exchangers/pressure vessels.Prepare technical bids for heat exchangers and pressure vessels.Major Duties:1. Design of heat exchangers & pressure vessels.2. Prepare bill of materials for each component designed.3. Identify weld procedures needed for the design.4. Development of scale drawings using CAD.5. Check and approve fabrication drawings for completed designs.6. Project management.7. Estimate labor hours to fabricate the component/vessel/exchanger.8. Write technical proposal for submittal to customer.Qualifications:Knowledge -Bachelor's degree of Science in Engineering.Thorough understanding of design per ASME Sec VIII Div. 1Knowledge of the various Materials of Construction in ASME Sec. II.Familiar with standard fabrication methods & requirements.Working knowledge of Autocad 2D.Basic understanding of HTRI Thermal Specification Sheets.Familiar with RCS (Heat Exchanger Design Software).Skills -Read and interpret fabrication drawings and specifications.Exceptional communication skills, including technical writing.Must be consistent in thought processes and work methodology.Working Conditions/Location:Technical office settingSulphur, LA or Pearland, TX
