The City of Pearland, TX is seeking to hire a full-time Senior Project Manager to lead and improve aspects of the day-to-day operations of our EPW department. Are you a dynamic and caring leader? If so, you may be perfect for this position!
The Sr. Project Manager earns a competitive salary of $76,313 TO 90,000/year based on qualifications. Additionally, the city pays all premiums for our employees' dental, long-term disability protection, and life insurance plus the majority portion of the medical premium for employees and their dependents. A DAY IN THE LIFE AS THE SENIOR PROJECT MANAGER
Job Summary: As Senior Project Manager, act as construction manager and/or project manager for most demanding projects as assigned. Includes observing progress at construction site, interfacing with both the construction contractor and design engineer, and overseeing all aspects of the project development; maintain project schedules and budgets, create all necessary project documentation, and coordinate with the right-of-way manager. Review all invoices and requests for payment for accuracy; enforce terms of the project contracts; maintain ultimate responsibility for assigned projects. Oversee projects run by the Project Managers, offering advice, guidance, and training where necessary.
Essential Functions


  • Manages, oversees, and mentors a team of project managers and project coordinators.
  • Manages, reviews, and coordinates the design and construction of projects assigned to the team.
  • Assists, informs, and consults with the Director and Assistant Director concerning status of projects.
  • Negotiates contracts with external entities.
  • Provides departmental interface and responds to customer complaints and concerns.
  • Coordinates projects with utilities, business, and community leaders.
  • Creates and executes a communication plan for internal and external stakeholders including but not limited to memos.
  • Develops and implements departmental standard operating procedures.

    REQUIREMENTS

    • BS/BA Degree from an accredited college or university and minimum four (4) years of experience in construction, engineering or infrastructure project management is required.
    • Experience may be substituted for degree with two (2) years accomplished work history in Engineering, Right-of-Way Acquisition, Logistics, or Business for each year needed to obtain degree.
    • Four (4) years in Municipal Government and/or working with federal, state, and local agencies is preferred.
    • Project Management Professional (PMP) or Master Project Manager (MPM) Certification required, or the ability to obtain within two (2) years of hire date.
    • Valid Texas Driver's License
