We partner with our Nurses at HCA Houston Healthcare Northwest!Job Summary and QualificationsWhat You Will Do In Your Role:* You will abstract data from the patient's chart including demographic characteristics, history of injuries, and modalities according to established guidelines and reviews.* You will track and round on trauma patients throughout hospital stay and monitor for outcomes on these patients.* You will Complete Performance Improvement activities through concurrent review of patient care data for trends and early identification of complications.* You will have working knowledge of the American College of Surgeons and Texas Department of State Health Services trauma care standards in all hospital settings.* You will serve as a member of Multidisciplinary Trauma Process Improvement Committee meetings.* You will refer cases to PI Coordinator or Trauma Director for review in Trauma Peer Review Committee meetings.* You will respond to Trauma Activations in the ER when notified.* You will intervene and resolve trauma related issues that may have a negative quality or cost outcomes.What qualifications you will need:* Graduate from an accredited school of Nursing, BSN preferred.* Current Registered Nurse License in the State of Texas or Multi-State Compact License (Employees with RN Compact License are required to obtain Texas RN License within 90 days of hire date)* Three years of recent Emergency Department, Critical Care or Trauma nursing care experience required.* Current American Heart Association BLS Certification is required.This role requires you to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 based on local, state and /or federal law or regulations (unless a medical or religious exemption is approved).HCA Houston Healthcare Northwest is a 415+ bed acute care hospital that has been serving the north Houston communities for more than 40 years, providing a wide range of medical services including cardiology, maternity care, Level III NICU, pediatrics, bariatrics and neurology.
