Pay: $60 per hour Shift Information: Nights Start Date: 2/9/2026 About the Position Registered Nurse - NICU – UHC Staffing Registered Nurse - NICU Location: College Station, TX Start Date: 02-09-2026 End Date: 05-04-2026 Shift Type: 12-hour night shifts (NOC), every other weekend, rotating holidays; primarily nights with occasional day float/assignments as needed (exact clock-in/out times vary by unit) Hours per Week: 36 Candidate Pay Rate: $60 per hour About United Health Care Staffing At United Health Care Staffing (UHC Staffing), we believe healthcare staffing should be more than just finding a job. Roles & Responsibilities Provide expert, compassionate care for neonates in a Level III NICU — manage complex respiratory and prematurity cases Attend deliveries, complete newborn admissions, and support couplet care when required Operate and manage ventilators, HFNC, BCPAP, NIPPV and other respiratory support modalities Perform UVC/UAC management, chest tube care, and ELBW infant management with meticulous attention to detail Collaborate with neonatology providers and consult with regional partners (Texas Children’s) for elevated cases Perform observational assessments, CCHD screening, car seat studies and other discharge-readiness tasks Document clinical care accurately in MEDITECH and communicate clearly during handoffs Follow AWHONN staffing guidelines and unit policies to maintain safe ratios Qualifications Current RN license (eligible to practice in Texas preferred) Minimum 2 years of Level III or IV NICU experience required Required certifications: BLS, NRP-advanced, STABLE — must be current before coming onsite Proven proficiency with NC, HFNC, BCPAP, ventilators, chest tubes, UVC/UAC and ELBW infant care Delivery experience highly preferred Comfortable with couplet care and assisting Mother-Baby when needed Able to work 12-hour night shifts, every-other-weekend, and rotate holidays Education Active RN license (state-specific as required) BSN preferred but not required Knowledge & Skills Strong neonatal assessment and clinical decision-making skills Ventilator and advanced respiratory support management Umbilical line (UVC/UAC) and chest tube care Care for extremely low birth weight (ELBW) infants Familiarity with AWHONN staffing guidelines and neonatology workflows Experience with MEDITECH or similar electronic charting systems Ability to assist with procedures, draw labs, and perform newborn observation assessments Team communication, prioritization, and the ability to function in high-acuity settings Benefits Supportive team culture that values your skills and well-being — you won’t be just a number Hands-on specialty experience in a Level III NICU working with complex neonatal cases Paid orientation and structured onboarding so you feel confident from day one Professional development opportunities and licensure assistance to keep your credentials current Flexible self-scheduling (balanced by management) so you have input into your life outside work Access to robust clinical collaboration — neonatology coverage 24/7 and partnerships with tertiary centers A predictable every-other-weekend schedule to help you plan your personal time A dress code that keeps things simple: navy scrubs and a professional unit appearance Travel Perks: Explore College Station, TX Explore the vibrant college-town energy of College Station: catch a game or walk the Texas A&M campus and Kyle Field, visit the George H.W.
