Job Summary and Qualifications The Registered Nurse Float Pool delivers professional nursing care to population-specific patients on the Acute Inpatient Units to include, Acute Care Medicine, Acute Care Telemetry, Acute Care Cardiac, Acute Care Cardiopulmonary, Chest Pain, Neuroscience, Neuro-Stroke, Neuro Spine, Observation, Ortho Surgical Trauma, Post-Surgical. Follows the Board of Nursing’s (BON) Standards of Nursing Practice utilizing the nursing process in care delivery. Maintains accountability for professional decisions and actions within the parameters of their legal scope of practice and in accordance with the federal, state, and local laws; rules and regulations; and policies, procedures and guidelines of Gulf Coast Division (GCD). What You Will Do In Your Role: - You will plan and prioritize age and specialty appropriate care of each patient assigned by communicating relevant information to appropriate healthcare professionals - You will competently and accurately complete age appropriate comprehensive physical and psychosocial assessment of patients; takes nursing history assessment to identify nursing diagnosis/patient care needs - You will evaluate the patient/family response to, and outcome(s) of, implemented care and modifies the plan of care accordingly - You will implement and direct care, using the nursing process with emphasis on the needs of individual patients - You will promote, initiate or coordinate interdisciplinary care provision in an open communication system with patients, nursing personnel, physicians, clergy, and with all other persons who influence patient progress What qualifications you will need: - Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date - (RN) Registered Nurse - Associate Degree, or Bachelors Degree - 1 year RN Medical/Surgical experience an an acute care setting - RN IMCU experience in an acute care setting - preferred As the first hospital in Pearland, Texas, HCA Houston Healthcare Pearland is proud to provide healthcare resources to the south Houston communities.
