Job Description Job Description Early Intervention Specialist
(EIS)/Service Coordinator Role Responsibilities The Early
Intervention Specialist I (EIS) provides Specialized Skills
Training (SST) and/or case management for a designated caseload
within the two county area served by Project G.R.O.W. ECI (Waller
and Fort Bend Counties). Activities provided are to meet the
individualized needs of the child and their family. The EIS I may
be a part of the Interdisciplinary Team (IDT) in evaluating the
needs of a child/family, developing the plan of care, and
implementing activities to meet the needs of children and families.
The EIS I is responsible for documentation of direct service
visits. The EIS I works under the general supervision of a Program
Supervisor, uses professional initiative, independent judgment and
travels within the assigned catchment area. The EIS I is
responsible and accountable for the adherence to and promotion of
the compliance policy. Working hours are Monday-Friday;
8:00am-5:00pm. Adjusted time to meet the needs of families and the
program may be required, as needed. Salary $21.65 per hour EIS I
while completing Individualized Professional Development Plan
(IPDP) and once certified and completed IPDP with Bachelor’s Degree
EIS II. $22.95 per hour Master’s Degree once certified and complete
IPDP and advance to EIS III Required Education and/or
Certifications, Experience, Skills Bachelors or Master’s Degree
from an accredited college or university with a major
specialization in child development, education, psychology, or a
related field. Three hours specifically in infant/toddler
development or special education is required. Knowledge of
infant/child development Knowledge of early intervention techniques
Knowledge of community resources Knowledge of assessment techniques
Interpersonal skills for positive interaction with individuals
Ability to work independently Ability to communicate both orally &
in writing Ability to exercise sound judgment in applying
departmental policy & procedure Ability to use/interpret
standardized testing instruments *Texas Driver's License Acceptance
into the EIS registry, working towards fully qualified Early
Intervention Specialist credential Preferred Education and/or
Certifications, Experience, Skills Bilingual or certified as Early
Intervention Specialist. Job Related Physical Requirements Must be
able to perform CPR. Must be able to perform moderate lifting and
carrying (15), pushing, stooping, repeated bending, reaching above
shoulder, simple grasping, hearing, walking, sitting and twisting.
Must have ability to see, write, operate office equipment, operate
a motor vehicle and have depth perception. Qualified individual
must be able to perform these functions with or without reasonable
